The Wonder

In response to Kat’s Twittering Tales #101 here is my take on this week’s prompt:

The indigenous men believed Mowgli was a cursed child. Despite being raised in the jungle-sleeping under the trees, swimming with the whales and climbing mountains, he yearned for an urban life. The city-bred humans were not considered to be the best kind of people on the move.

Over the fence

My puppy had just learnt to jump over our fence. Every afternoon since, he would be prancing around while I sat by the garden relaxing. One day he jumped over and did not come back for a while. All the jumping had finally paid off-he returned with a play mate from the other side.

It was that time of the evening when her husband and children were away that she always cleaned her kitchen. Today, she had taken on the glass windows. The splash of water trickling down into random patterns was always relatable to her. Much like in her life, chaos was in order.

The priests prayed with sincerity. Their vain queen had met her tryst with fate. Her tyranny had made her forfeit her crown along with her egotistical head and all that was left was her stone-cold torso. The kingdom was left headless, but it was time for a new awakening.
